Staff First Aid

Five staff from elc recently attended a two-day First Aid Certification workshop conducted by X3SI at their HQ in Puchong. X3SI is a company that aims to improve the availability and quality of first aid, wilderness medicine, and pre-hospital emergency medical education in Southeast Asia.

The Standard First Aid program offered by X3SI is designed to meet the requirements of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) for occupational first aiders. By the end of the program, participants are expected to have a basic understanding of first aid principles, actions to take before starting to help, injury emergencies, sudden illness, and environmental emergencies. Dr. Shaliza Manmohan, who has experience in Emergency Medicine during her posting in Borneo, conducted the training. Dr. Manmohan is passionate about education and improving pre-hospital care awareness in the community, especially during emergency situations. Her real-life experience and knowledge was directly injected into the course, and made it far more valuable and enriching for all participants.

Overall, the First Aid Certification workshop by X3SI was an exceptional experience. For those interested in first aid, wilderness medicine and/ or pre-hospital emergency medical education we would recommend that you look at X3SI on www.x3si.com.
