Connecting food banks and aids to those in need

The economic challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic have intensified, with many losing their source of income and facing various hardships. In response to this, three Malaysian friends created the SambalSOS App (Please open this link on a Google Chrome browser). It is a non-profit and community-led initiative with the objective of providing the needed support for those who are in need.

Through the app, people can send an SOS to ask for help or access locations of food banks nearby. Meanwhile, others can report those putting up white flags or in need of assistance.

Over 300 food banks across the nation are listed on the platform with SOS reports from all across the country, with the number for both growing daily.

The Sambal SOS App’s efforts will continue to help many in need as Malaysians rally around it, with Google also lending its support.
