First Aid Training

Last weekend we held our international first aid training course for BSO Scout leaders and volunteer staff members from both ELC campuses. New Zealand paramedic Damien Santer and his energetic team from X3Si, who specialise in emergency, prehospital and austere medical education, held the workshop at our Cyberjaya campus.

Staff learned how to react to life threatening medical conditions and the appropriate responses for each. From fractures, dislocations, cuts, falls, head and spinal injuries to medical conditions such as asphyxiation, anaphylaxis, choking, drowning, stroke, cardiac arrest, and heart attack. While we all hope we never have to use the new skills we have acquired, we can take comfort knowing the ELC family now has so many competent first aiders on hand should the need arise. Happy adventures in scouting!
