Secondary Life Skills Workshops

Welcome back to the new Academic Year. To enrich our students’ life skills development, we are back with more life skill workshops. The rate of change in the world is phenomenal. Students are going to grow up to take on new and challenging careers in addition to current occupations. Some of these jobs have not EVEN been invented. Faced with a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous environment, we help to equip and enable our students to not only strive but thrive in the challenging future. This is where our Life skills workshops can help.

Life skills involve self-reflection and understanding, taking responsibility for decisions, having a growth mind-set, stress management, critical thinking, goal setting, building resilience and conflict resolution.

The workshops are free of charge. It is open to Secondary school students (Years 7 to 9) and will be held on two Fridays after school (from 2.00pm to 3.30pm) in the Drama Room (formerly known as the Interact Room).

Maximum student intake is 20 per workshop, based on first come first served basis.

I believe that the workshops planned for this term deliver important skills and will help our students to handle life with greater confidence. The skills learned will teach students to evaluate situations and choose the best course of action deemed necessary for making sound decisions in all areas of life.

To register for the workshop, please send me an email me at counselling_sb@elc.edu.my by 15th September. Please state the title as “Grit” or “Conflict Resolution” as the case is. State your child’s name and class.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to write to me.

Together we can foster further positive change within our elc family.

Sincerely,

Ms. Geetanjali Chhabra
